The main value of spreading effluent with a slurry tanker is the ability to cover all the farm. A common approach on many farms is to move nitrogen through a high pressure irrigator, but much of the nitrogen value is lost due to volatilisation as it dissipates into the atmosphere. Along with this, is the ability to spread the manure over virtually every paddock on the farm.

Effluent is much more efficiently moved with a slurry tanker with a Nevada RainWave™  applicator, which is able to encapsulate droplets and apply the effluent directly to the soil. With this approach there’s less odour, minimal nitrogen is lost which adds further value to the effluent being spread across crop paddocks.

Another advantage of spreading effluent with a slurry tanker is the ability to spread more accurately across the whole width of the application. If you are working with an irregular shaped paddock, you can apply effluent to the whole paddock, as opposed to a travelling irrigator that can only spread down a straight line in the middle of a paddock.

If your farm includes a sump or a pit under slated floors that makes it too thick to pump out with a traditional effluent pump, a slurry tanker can easily suck the effluent from underneath for greater efficiency and fast spreading capability to crop paddocks. With direct application of effluent, crop fields benefit from a head start for optimal growth.
